
Iqbal day is celebrated for Dr Allama Iqbal. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot. He was a great thinker, Philosophist and a famous poet. He gave the idea of Pakistan. He is the national poet of Pakistan.
If we take view of his educational life, he did his MA from his country and then went out for higher education. He went England and then German for education. After coming back he award Muslims to had a separate country. He told them that we have a separate identity, and we should live our life according to Islamic rules and principles. He did all this with the help of his poetry.
In all that struggles Quaid –e-Azam helped him a lot. At last following Allama Iqbal and hard work of Quaid-e-Azam, Muslims got their separate Country on 14 August 1947.
Allama Iqbal’s poetry is very famous all over the world. He was known as the ‘Poet of the East’. Some of his famous poetry is: ‘Shikwa’,’ Jawab e shikwa’, ‘Khudi ko kar buland’, ‘Hamdardi’ for children and many more.
His famous books are: Bange-Dara and Bal-e-jibril.
He died at Lahore, Pakistan on 21 April, 1938. He was buried adjacent to famous Badshahi Mosque.
