8th Youth Performing Arts Festival

The 8th Youth Performing Arts Festival will begin from tomorrow (Thursday) at Peeru’s Café on Raiwind Road, Lahore, Pakistan.

Before it is always held at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium. But now because of security problems and on going country conditions, festival venue is changed.

Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop Directors Faizan Peerzada and Tasneem Peerzada told reporters at the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday the Raiwind senior superintendent police would visit the venue today (Wednesday) to finalise security arrangements, adding that private security guards would also be hired to maintain order at the event.

Faizan said that “the venue was quite spacious and spans 3 acres. The festival would include stalls, which will guide people about ongoing performances at the event”. He added that “the event would start without a formal inauguration ceremony”.
